Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.

Applications are actually open and can close on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to fulfill the subsequent requirements:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a home that has a combined gross residence earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined home revenue will not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and need not my nsfas submit any proof of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to provide the correct Id Document numbers, names, and surname, as reflected in their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are researching or plan to study in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All nsfas status check students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
